It’s been a rough season for the international edition of 100 Days of Winter. After a January of epic storms, the snow gave up mid-February. On the search for larger mountains, the flu knocked me out for damn near a week, and I spent the next month chasing sputtering snowfalls across the continent.

I finally made it to Austria and one final storm, but when you look down from the gondola and see a girl sunbathing in a bikini, it’s a solid sign that the season is over. So I’m calling it before I completely run out of travel funds.

Like always, it’s been an experience. I got to ride 24 days in 12 new ski areas across 5 countries. Traveling by bus and train with all my snowboard equipment was an adventure in itself. I’ve was curious to experience what it would be like to ride in another country and in that regards, the season did not disappoint.

Note from the future: The lack of snow meant I spent more time than anticipated in Slovakia, Poland, and Austria, which had the hilarious effect of affecting my tourist visa and the whole 2017 edition 100 Nights of Summer.

Note from the future 2020: Out of all places, I have settled down in Bankso, Bulgaria, for the entire season.
