Day 73
Location: McCall, ID
Resorts: 34 out of 50
Brundage might be Idaho’s best kept secret. This straightforward mountain lets you get right to the action with a high speed quad a stone’s throw from the parking lot. No screwing around here with multiple lift rides — The Bluebird Express takes you quickly to the summit. Add in a four inch dusting along with sunny skies and we were ready to sample the goods of Brundage.
Up top, we found the best stuff over on the Northwest Passage and Hidden Valley. Steeps, bumps, and some rock drops are tucked in the back, with a groomed cat track along the boundary so you won’t get stuck during your exploration.
And there’s plenty to explore at Brundage. We found the entire mountain to be just one wide open bowl. The trees never got too tight. With an endless supply of fresh tracks, we had a especially fun time in the gladed area off of Temptation.
Rumor has it they plan to throw in a lift in the next couple years and open up another awesome looking peak. See a shot of it below…and also a shot of the local Mardi Gras tree. That’s a lot of underwear.
