Katowice in Poland is a former industrial city that’s often overlooked by travelers who end up in the nearby (and more touristy) city of Krakow. I may have fallen into that camp as well, but came across Katowice this past summer when I was there for OFF Festival, one of the best DIY festivals in this region. When my festival tour finished, I came back because (1) I found Katowice to be super relaxing, (2) to stuff my face with pirogi, and (3) because I wanted to explore more of the street art I had glanced during bus and train trips.
