Day 2
Location: Park City, Utah
Resorts: 1 out of 50

Finally. After all the planning we are officially on the road. And even more importantly, we’re on the hill.

We picked The Canyons as our kickoff mountain for a variety of reasons. It’s so massive that even on a packed Saturday, we never had to wait in a lift line. Access to the backcountry is super easy. And most important with a large group — a ton of lift ticket deals.

We were stoked to see the return of the Pair Pass this season. 2 lift tickets, 2 beers,  and 2 burgers for only $119. Look hard — you can only pick this deal up online. The Descente 40 free lift ticket deal was in full effect, as well as the Park City Quickstart program which hooks you up with a free same day ticket when you fly into Salt Lake City.

Coming out of sub-zero temperatures, it’s always a pleasure to ride under Utah’s sunny skies. The snowfall has been below average this season so we headed out into the backcountry from the Ninety-Nine 90 lift. We were psyched to find more than a few powder stashes hidden out there.

After a full day exploring The Canyons, we ended up at Smokie’s Bar at the base of the hill. Three words. Chili Cheese Fries. No idea who that guy on the right is, but he’s having a hell of a time with us.
